Here in Tönisvorst, we have been producing an extensive range of varied and popular convenience meat products manufactured on the basis of traditional values for the past 50 years. Founder’s son Klaus Abbelen now runs the company, with the help of general manager Clemens Louven. Around 500 highly-qualified employees produce premium convenience specialities on production premises that occupy 15,000 square metres every day. State-of-the-art production methods and comprehensive monitoring guarantee that the premium quality of Abbelen products is consistently maintained.


1958 Heinz Abbelen opens a family butchers shop
1969 The family-run butchers shop becomes the Fleischwarenfabrik Heinz Abbelen meat product factory
1976 First expansion to 630 square metres of production space
1982 Production space extended again to 850 square metres
1986 The founder's sons Jörg and Klaus Abbelen take over the company
1987 Production space is increased yet again to an impressive 1,050 square metres
2000 Construction of new premises with 6,500 square metres of production space
2006 The premises are extended to encompass 10,000 square etres
of production space
2013 Abbelen continues to grow – the factory currently has over 15,000 square metres of production space
